A Busy January Ahead for India Flights!

As we have entered the New Year of 2025, we expect this January to be extremely busy for those hoping to get a cheap India flight! January tends to be an eventful month for passengers looking to depart Canada in the Winter and return in early Spring before temperatures rise in India. With a large number of options and heavy competition for Canada to India flights, there will be plenty of opportunities to get a cheap flight to India.

Air Canada continues to open up space on its flights via London as it is running out of time to fill its planes in January. This impacts mainly travellers from Vancouver and Calgary, and Air Canada is not offering a direct flight from these cities. Out of Toronto, Air India has recently opened up space on its flights as its double-daily flight from Toronto to Delhi requires more support than it had originally hoped. 

One of the main factors driving reduced prices on Canada to India flights is the lack of demand from students travelling from India to Canada this Spring.  The changes made by the federal government reducing the number of students and the likely change in government means we will have higher regulation for students which will reduce demand even further.  The reduction in demand from students is great news for Canadians as they have been struggling to find return flights from India to Canada for a cheap price.  As we enter into the final leg of the peak booking and travel season for India-bound passengers, we believe there will be cheap India flights for those ready to book this January.

For passengers departing from Toronto to Delhi, Air Canada is offering flights on their direct flight from $2320 in February, while Air India is somewhat cheaper at $2200.  If you want to secure a rock-bottom price on your Toronto to New Delhi flight there is a new player in the group, LOT Polish Airlines.  They have tickets to India available from only $1950.  There is plenty of great India flights available from Toronto this Winter!

For flights departing from Vancouver to India, Air India continues to be the most popular option with flights from $2350 which is a great price considering you get the convenience of a non-stop and you are allowed two free checked bags.  If you want to get a lower priced option on flights to Delhi then Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong will be your best option as they are offering flights from only $2150.  Overall, from Vancouver, there are great options to secure a cheap flight to India.

With January now here, you are running out of time to secure a cheap flight to India.  As most customers want to escape Canada’s Winter freeze and return before things get too hot in India now is the time to book.  By waiting even a few more days you could risk paying higher prices as seats are filling up.

With Air India and Air Canada fighting over who can take the most market share we expect prices to come down by a small amount to stimulate the market over the next few weeks and months.
