Great fares are available in the fall on certain days!  For the first time in a long time, Air India has decided it wants to stimulate the market for the fall and has significantly reduced prices for short periods for September and October.  Those who were ready to book found a cheap flight to India!  Air India has decided on a strategy where they lower prices on certain days for a very short period, those who are ready to pull the trigger found great prices on their flights to India from Toronto and Vancouver over the past 10 days.

Yesterday Air India once again reduced prices on flights from Vancouver to Delhi and only had a few seats available.  Those who had provided all their information previously were able to lock in their price and finally get a cheap flight ticket to India.

If Air India continues this plan to quickly lower prices to India for a very limited number of seats you must be ready to decide quickly and have planned your vacation far in advance.  We have not seen Air India being aggressive to generate demand for flight tickets to India for a couple of years so this means that they need to offer cheap flights to India to find passengers which is great news!

In other positive news, Air Canada is now showing some progress on their Dubai flight from Vancouver.  We are now seeing better pricing with connections on Air India to New Delhi.  While prices on this route remain high for the peak traffic season it looks like this will be an option for customers to travel to India this fall and winter.  If Air Canada decided to use this option to compete with Air India on their direct service it will mean another option to find a cheap India flight!

While this route is still pricing on the high side it looks like the two competitors have come to some agreement to provide relief on the Air India direct flight from Vancouver to New Delhi.  We are hopeful that as we move closer to the booking period this route will become a viable option for those looking to get a cheap flight to India!

Passengers departing from Toronto this fall looking for the best price to India are primarily purchasing tickets on Air India.

Air India’s direct service from Toronto to New Delhi is the lowest price in the market and their offer of two bags puts them in the best position to take much of the India flight tickets this fall and winter.  Prices on their direct flight start from only $1800.  For customers departing from Toronto who want to avoid Air India, Etihad Airways via Abu Dubai is also competitive on this route.  As they are known for a high level of service customers who want a better experience can receive with Etihad for only $1790, but that means you must take a much longer route to get to your final destination.

Customers departing from Vancouver on flights to Delhi are once again primarily travelling on the Air India direct flight to Delhi.

While prices are high on this service from Vancouver, the closest competition is All Nippon Airlines whose prices start from $1900, but their flight forces you to overnight in Tokyo in both directions, which could end up costing you more if you have to book a hotel.

Right now, if you book the Air India direct flight this fall you will be looking at $2060 which is not significantly more for the time savings you will find by sticking with the direct Air India flight which is almost the cheapest flight to India right now.

Once again, those customers who have been able to plan and provide their details and dates for their trip to India have secured the best price.  Some passengers were able to get direct flights to India this fall for as low as $1500 which once again allowed those few to get their cheap flight to India.

For anyone going to India this fall or winter the best advice is to make a plan to ensure you get a cheap ticket to India!
