Book Your India Flight Early or Risk Paying Way More!

If you want to buy a cheap flight to India, your best time to purchase is 6 to 9 months away from your departure date or fly in the off-season when the weather is less desirable.  As we have seen in the past 6 months demand from and to India from all places in the world is extremely strong.  With so many students looking to study in foreign countries and such a large Indian community residing overseas demand should remain very strong years into the future.  As airlines are trying to increase flights to India it will take a long time for the number of flights to increase to a point where prices were as low as they were in 2019.

3 years ago, the situation in India was very different.

During COVID 10’s millions of Indians reached the age of 18 and the economic situation also increased.  With such a large population even a small percentage of this new middle class will have a significant impact on the number of travellers to and from India, and this will affect your ability to find a cheap flight to India.

Customers continue to scour for flights for $1000 or less for round-trip flights from Canada to India, but those days have most likely come to an end.  For those who do want to buy a cheap flight to India, it means you will have to purchase your ticket months in advance or look to travel in the off-peak period.  You can still find lower prices in May and April when the weather in India is less comfortable but now with increased levels of air conditioning, it means you still enjoy a trip to your homeland.

For passengers departing from Toronto to Delhi, the Air Canada direct flight is still proving to be extremely popular.

Even at these extremely high prices, Air Canada continues to find passengers who are willing to pay these types of prices.  If you want to travel this winter prices will start at almost $3500, which is much higher than most people can afford.  Many others are doing whatever they can to save money which means a stop someone along the way on your travel to India.  The vast major of clients leaving in the next few weeks are looking at the American Airlines option via New York as this is the lower price in the market for only $2200.

Customers who are planning well in advance are already looking at prices for this fall of 2023.  If you can commit now you can successfully get a cheap flight to India.  The Air Canada direct flight from Toronto to Delhi in September is available for only $2500 which is a significant discount for those who purchase at the last minute.  Passengers who are looking to save even more money can fly with a stop with the American Airlines flight via JFK available for only $1900.

Passengers departing from Vancouver to Delhi in the next few weeks will be paying very high prices.  Most passengers are flying directly with Air India to New Delhi.  Customers who are taking this option are paying close to $3000 for the convenience of this service. This price for this flight is lower than in Toronto as we are seeing a significant number of passengers travel over the border to depart from Seattle.  Prices from Seattle are much cheaper than from Vancouver.

We are also seeing a large number of bookings for the fall of 2023 as customers are planning for their bookings.  Right now, if you purchase a ticket in the fall, it is available on the Air India direct service for only $1800. This price is the lowest in the market so it is not expected to last long.

As we reach the end of the busy season for travel and bookings from Canada to India the lesson that has been learned this year is that it made sense to book early and get a cheap flight to India.  As demand is very strong and there is still limited capacity, we expect the same situation to occur 6 months from now.
