If you want to buy a cheap ticket to India this year, now is the time to buy. While fares are much higher than we have seen in the past there is strong demand for India flights. We have seen a large number of bookings in the past 7 days as people have committed to purchase their India flight this fall or winter. Many passengers are using the Air India direct flight from Toronto and Vancouver to Delhi, while others are flying on British Airways via London. Those passengers have decided to book now as fares are already beginning to rise.
Customers who purchased a British Airways ticket over the last few weeks were able to lock in a cheap flight to India as their fares have risen in the past few days. With customers from all over the world booking the London – Delhi flight the number of available seats has shrunk dramatically. The lower number of seats on this particular flight is pushing fares even higher. After British Airways, Air India has a large number of flight bookings. The direct service and relatively good price have shifted the market away from Air Canada and over to India’s national carrier to find cheap India flights.
Air Canada continues to push for a much higher price as they feel that as seats fill up on other carriers’ customers will have no choice but to pay a higher fare with them. So far, their pricing strategy has moved the market to other airlines, but that could change if flight prices to India move even high as seats are booked. There is a chance that Air Canada will have to lower their price if they are unable to convince passengers to pay the higher rate, but so far, they have committed to keeping the fare where it is.
Customers looking to find a cheap India flight from Toronto this fall are booking now to lock in their India flight price. Passengers looking to buy a direct flight from Toronto to New Delhi are usually booking the Air India flight as it is much cheaper than Air Canada right now, but that could change if seats fill up. Anyone looking to buy a cheap flight to India has been looking at the Middle East airlines as their fares are competitive for the first time in years. Right now, Emirates has India flights available for $1875 which is the lowest in the market. While the Middle Eastern carriers competing for India’s business is a great sign overall, it probably means higher prices for this fall and winter as they tend not to offer lower-priced tickets to India.
For anyone travelling out of Western Canada to India this fall, there has also been a significant rise in bookings. Customers travelling from Vancouver to Delhi are making up the vast majority the India travel bookings right now. While the vast majority of the flight bookings have been on British Airways, there has also been a large number of bookings on the Air India direct flight. Right now, this fall Air India has prices available for $2170, while British Airways has pricing from $2050. Overall, we are getting many passengers calling every day to make a booking or to see if prices have gone down, but unfortunately, those who have not committed may not be able to secure a cheap flight to India this fall or winter.
As many customers are making their plans to visit family and friends this festival season in India, we are getting many questions about the right time to book. If you have definite plans to travel to India the time to book is now. While some customers have fears of airport issues most customers are travelling in off-peak times so luckily, they will not be dealing with headaches of this summer’s airport problems, while others have concerns about high airfares. Those customers who are waiting to book hoping for prices to go down have ended up paying more by waiting as fares continue to creep up. As the airlines have faced another summer with travel issues, we are looking forward to a fall when airports are less busy which is the perfect time to visit family and friends in India.
