Flight Prices from Canada to India are Trending Down!

For those looking to buy a cheap flight to India, the news is good. We have seen a downward trend in prices, and customers are unwilling to pay the sky-high amounts that were demanded over the past two years.  During the past two months, the main driver of higher costs from Vancouver was Air India.  Since Pakistani airspace remains closed, they decided to reduce the number of seats available for sale on a particular flight.

The reduced number of seats allowed Air India to fly direct from Vancouver to Delhi without having to stop.  The reduced number of seats, unfortunately, led to higher prices.  Now, starting October 24th of this year, a new decision has been made.  Air India will start flying full flights, but this comes at a cost; they will need to stop in Calcutta to refuel.  While this is only a technical stop, it does add to the total flight time and therefore.  The combination off all of these factors means there are more seats available to sell and that Air India now longer has the advantage of being the only direct flight means they have no choice but to reduce prices on one of their most lucrative markets.

While Air India is trying their best to keep prices high, we have seen in the past few days that prices are now coming down, especially for those flights returning in the Winter of 2026.  This is all great news for those who want to get a cheap flight to India now or in the next few months!

Right now passengers who are departing from Toronto are finding a new player with the cheapest flight to India.  Ethiopian Airlines, flying through Addis Ababa, is offering the best price for flights from Toronto to Delhi.  You can find flights on this airline for only $1399.  While Ethiopian is a newer entrant to the Canada to India marketplace, they are growing their footprint in the country by offering great flight prices and free hotels for long stays in their home country.

If you are planning to fly direct Air India is the cheapest option available, although their flights starting on October the 24th will have a technical stop in Calcutta.  You can find flights with them for only $1729.  If you are looking for a pure direct flight, now Air Canada is your only option.  Because Air Canada now has full control over the direct flights from Toronto to Delhi, they are charging a large premium with prices starting from $2329.

Customers who leave from Vancouver and are going to India have a new option for a cheap India flight, but it does stop twice on the departing and returning flights.  This option is via Seattle and London before it reaches Delhi with Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.  This is one again showing that carriers are struggling to fill the Seattle to London route and are sacrificing the Delhi flights to fill their planes.

As most people do not want to go through the hassle of multiple stops on their flight to Delhi, Air India is your best option, even with a technical stop in New Delhi.  For those who want the Air India option, it is available for only $1830, which is better than stopping twice on your Canada to India flight!

The trend for cheap India flights is looking better everyday for those who want to save money on Canada to Delhi flights.  While we have yet to see major seat sale inventory continues to open as customers are unwilling to pay extremely high prices as they were a few years back.  We are hoping this continues, allowing everyone to get a cheap flight to India!
