Lower India Flight Prices Stimulates Demand This December!

During the holiday shorted week, we generally see a significant reduction in Canada to India flight bookings as most people are at home enjoying family and friends, but this year has been different.  With prices dropping for 2026, we have seen a huge number of tickets purchased during a period that is generally very quiet for India bookings.  The reason that prices are dropping is that we are seeing an increase in the amount of competition for India flight tickets, which is great news if you want to get a cheap India flight ticket.

Also, many carriers, including Air India, had been keeping prices high for most of the Fall, but now, with Winter approaching, they have decided it’s time to act.  They have lowered prices on many dates, stimulating demand and allowing customers to get cheap India flights during when most people are not paying attention to future travel plans.

With most airlines’ revenue teams taking a vacation during this period because big decisions are rarely made at this time of year, Air India has decided to drop flight prices to Delhi.  As Canada to Delhi flight prices have dropped, specifically on India’s national carrier, other airlines have had no choice but to do the same. All of this is great news for those who want to purchase a cheap ticket to India in the next few weeks.

Those who have taken some time out of their enjoyment of the festive season to book flights are saving money, but as flight purchases ramp up again in January, we expect prices to quickly jump as well.

For passengers who are leaving from Toronto and arriving in New Delhi, your best option right now to secure a cheap India flight is to travel on United Airlines via New Jersey.  The direct flight from Newark to Delhi is struggling to fill its seats, which is great news for you.  You can fly on this option for only $1449.

This compares with Air Canada’s direct option from Toronto, which will cost you $1899. In this scenario, it might make sense to spend a few hundred dollars more and fly on the direct option, or if you want a nice middle ground, you can fly on an Air India flight for only $1599.  While Air India does have a technical stop in Calcutta, it is much easier than changing planes and still provides a cheap India flight!

For customers departing from Vancouver and going to India.  The cheapest flight to Delhi is also via United Airlines’ Newark direct flight.  Although from Vancouver you must take an extra stop via Seattle, it is a great price at only $1639.  For those who are always looking at the Air India service via Calcutta, it is significantly more, with flights starting from $2399.

Passengers who want a middle ground between the cheapest and the most convenient for Vancouver to India departures are looking to Japan Airlines via Tokyo.  You can find flights on this route for $1999, are provides both convenience and a cheap flight to India!

With 2025 coming to a close, there have been plenty of changes for Canada-India flights.  For those who are travelling in the Winter of 2026, there are cheap India flights available now. It is a great time to book!
