Prices Have Dropped for India Flights!

If you are looking to buy cheap India flights there is some good news as prices remain low!  The reason for low prices is demand has been significantly impacted by the Pakistan and India conflict.  While the cease-fire continues to hold there have been repercussions impacting the arrangements, especially for India’s national carrier Air India.

Pakistan has closed their airspace for all India flights.  For Air India, this means that their Vancouver flight can no longer fly from Vancouver to Delhi without stopping.  Air India has made some progress by accessing Mongolian airspace, but the route does not provide a short enough distance to get from Vancouver to Delhi without stopping.  Air India has decided to make a technical stop in Calcutta rather than in Vienna as they were doing previously.  This allows Air India to save on landing fees, but it does mean that the Vancouver to Delhi route is no longer direct.

While the concerns between Pakistan and India have impacted the number of passengers travelling to India, the great news is that because of the fall-off in demand cheap India flights are available this May and June!  The Spring tends to be a slower time for India flight traffic, but these recent issues have provided another reason for the airlines to drop prices from Canada to India.

In other news, Air India has decided that as of June 1st, any new tickets purchased in their lowest fare classes will no longer receive two free checked bags.  This change is significant as passengers on Air India have come to expect extra bags as compared to the competition, but this is no longer the case.  While we expect this to impact the number of passengers Air India receives as it aligns with other carriers, it is important to note that fares with two free bags are still available for an upsell.

For those looking to buy a cheap flight to India, now is the time to book for passengers leaving Toronto and going to New Delhi.  You can find a price on the direct service for as low as $1199.  We have never seen prices so low for direct service!  As we expect these cheap India flights to stimulate demand prices will probably rise quickly, so if you haven’t had a chance to visit friends and family in India you have an amazing opportunity to save money!

Customers who are departing from Vancouver and travelling to Delhi are allowing finding prices that we have not seen before!  You can fly on the Air India direct flight from Vancouver to Delhi for as little as $1249!  While the issues between Pakistan and India remain top of mind, those who are willing to travel to India in the next few weeks will save a significant sum of money with prices less than half of what they were at this time last year.

Overall, there has been improvement in the political situation between Pakistan and India, but demand has not come roaring back.  Due to the lack of demand for India flights, you can find prices from Canada to India that we haven’t seen in years and never before on direct flights from Air India.  We strongly expect things to stabilize over the next few weeks which will mean prices will rise, so if you are planning to go now is the time to secure a cheap flight to India!
