Part III-Abu Dhabi, An Adventure Not Be Missed!
We headed out to Abu Dhabi to spend a few days and explore the area and meet up with more people from our group. At this point and were aged from 6 years old to 65+ but luckily pleasing everyone was easy with so much to see and do!
We stayed at the Park Rotana which is centrally located and had a nice pool and amenities and very reasonably priced. We used Arabian Adventures to transfer us and had a comfortable ride that was just over an hour.
We were located right next to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which is well worth a visit. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has complimentary live guided tours that are interactive, making them one of the UAE’s most loved cultural activities for all ages! The tour was approximately 45 minutes long and was led by one of their tourist guides. We were led around the mosque while enjoying the various elements of the arts, culture and Islamic architecture. It might not have been the kid’s favorite thing to do, but very educational for all ages!
After this we headed out to Yas Beach. Wow, what a beautiful beach. One of the things you will start to notice is that everywhere has an entrance fee, but you quickly learn why. Located on the sands of Yas Island, Yas Beach has decided to take the Abu Dhabi beach scene up to the next level. Yas Beach Club offers a wide range of fun in the sun and has something for everyone.
The new beach lounge area features an open-air DJ booth, complete with its own ellipsoidal bar, an infinity pool, and five private chalets. Around the pool, you will find Pool Cabanas you can get comfortable in. The tropical themed Tiki Bar and restaurant will ensure you to have one of the best food experiences from the capital.
The Snack Shops offer an additional menu on top of the Tiki Restaurant. From Pizza to Arabic food, from Burger to Ice cream. Everything you want, they have it.
Water sports lovers at Yas Beach Club are catered for by the nation’s top aquatic group Noukhada, with a wide range of sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding and more. And for all the adventurers out there we also have Jet Skis available.
Families will love Yas Beach, as it offers everything children love to do at the beach. They can have a splash in the shaded kiddies splash pool with a waterfall to keep them entertained or just ask for a shovel and a bucket at the reception to go and build a sand castle on the beach!
We then headed to the Shangri-La hotel Abu Dhabi to enjoy the most fabulous sunset I have ever seen. They have an outdoor area that overlooks the water and has a huge pool area and bar where you can enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun go down. One of the more popular drinks is a fresh lemon mint drink. Add this coupled with some shisha overlooking the water and you are officially living the country club lifestyle!
Off to bed to enjoy Yas Waterworld Part IV which was next on the schedule. This park is made for people of all ages, it’s not just a kid’s park!
