Limited Space Travelling to India in the New Few Weeks

If you are looking for a cheap flight to India, space is very limited in the next few weeks.  There are still a large number of people trying to get out of Canada for a few weeks of better weather in India before the heat makes things uncomfortable on the sub-continent.  The rush of bookings in the past 3 weeks has pushed prices up for February and March with cheap India flights now available in April and May.

We are hearing some rumblings that the flight prices in the Spring will come down as there is less demand than forecasted.

The announcement from the Canadian Federal government that they will be capping the number of international students and the fact that housing continues to be a huge problem in Canada is pushing demand from that sector down.  With those students contributing less traffic on one-way India to Canada flights, there is more room for Canadians to travel to India and a higher likelihood of cheap India flights!

While this announcement by the Federal Government was only made in the last few days it will quickly have an impact on demand as students will not be able to make plans to come to Canada in 2024 which will have a substantial impact on demand for the flights.  Specifically, Air Canada & Air India will be impacted on their direct flights which are always the most popular.   This news along with added capacity for 2024 should have a significant impact on your ability to get cheap India flights for the rest of 2024.

Passengers looking to buy flights from Toronto to Delhi in the next few weeks are paying a high price as February demand has been very high.  Most bookings are now coming in for early Spring to find a cheap India flight price from Toronto.  Air France and KLM continue their trend of being the lowest price option in the market with prices starting from $1950.  Air India’s direct flight service on their Dreamliner aircraft is also very competitive for only $2000.  The spread of only $50 to fly directly to India is shifting the market and is probably a result of reduced student traffic.

Customers looking to travel from Vancouver to India are looking to Seattle more and more as they continue to provide a low-cost option to get to Delhi.  Especially those located in Surrey who are close to the border are finding it an easy drive to the Seattle airport to save hundreds of dollars.  This is beginning to have an impact on prices here in Vancouver.

Air India continues to take the vast majority of traffic on the Vancouver to Delhi route, but they are not seeing some weakness in demand, especially this spring.  We are now finding prices below $2000 and expect prices to drop even further in the next couple of weeks.  For those looking to go to India from Vancouver, this Spring could be a great time, before temperatures in India rise even further.

Overall while the news may not have been great for students who want to study in Canada, it is a positive for those Canadians looking to buy a cheap flight to India.  As the number of students will drop by a large amount, it will have a big impact on demand.  With lowered demand comes lower prices which is great news for Canadians!  We expect to see changes soon in the market especially as customers look to book their flight ticket to India for the fall soon!
