Cheap Last Minute Flights to India!

Customers looking to buy a cheap India ticket this fall are finding lower prices as many airlines hoping to capitalize on high air ticket prices have smaller flight loads than they would like.  For the first time in years, those customers who have waited until the last moment to purchase a ticket are finding a cheap flight to India.  Reduced capacity allowed airlines like Air Canada and Air India to keep prices high, but higher interest rates and the lack of pent-up demand are slowing the market for air ticket purchases to India.  While this is not great news for the airlines it is amazing news for anyone looking to travel to India in the next few weeks and months!  Prices are still much higher than anyone would like, but for the first time in a long time, we are seeing some pullback from the airlines as customers are not willing to pay airfare from Canada to India at this level.

Passengers who did not buy a ticket to India in the last few weeks should be able to save at least $200 to $300 depending on their route and date of travel especially if they are leaving in the next couple of weeks.

We do hope this is the beginning of a trend as lower prices in India are what all customers are hoping for.  The greatest concern for long-term pricing in India is a lack of capacity in the airline industry in general.  As more aircraft are built and if prices remain high it will eventually add more seats into the market, which will lower prices.  Unfortunately, the days of $700 round trip airfare from Vancouver to Delhi might be over, but we should continue to see prices drop over the medium term unless there are other shocks in the market which means cheap India flights for you.

Passengers departing from the Toronto airport looking for cheap flights to India have some good news as flights leaving in the next couple of weeks unless you are committed to flying on direct flights from Air Canada and Air India.  For example, an Air India direct flight will cost $2850 while Air Canada is less at $2409, but if you can travel via the United States you can travel to India for only $1600! The fact that many students are coming to Canada forces them to fly on direct flights as they do not usually have a U.S. visa, this creates an opportunity for Canadians to purchase a cheap flight to India via New York!  While a flight with a connection is less convenient the savings more than make up for the longer flight times.  Overall if you are looking for a cheap flight to India and you can travel via America, this is the way to go!

Travellers departing from Vancouver to New Delhi unfortunately are not getting the great last-minute pricing that the East is finding.

Most of the pricing issue is due to Air India’s control of the market due to the closure of Russian airspace.  The airspace closure directly impacts both Canadian and American carriers and they are unable to fly direct flights from the West Coast of North America to India.  The lack of flights creates higher prices.  In addition, Vancouver has many students coming to Canada who require Air India direct flight access.

For passengers who want the direct flight on Air India prices start close to $2260 departing in the next couple of weeks.  To save money, the best option right now from Vancouver is to travel via New York with Air Canada and United Airlines for only $1800.

As we are now in the peak booking season for travel to India customers are scrambling to find cheap India flights any way they can.

With demand somewhat lower than airlines had hoped we are finding lower prices in the next few weeks than we had seen in the previous few months.  As many have already purchased their tickets for the fall, we are already seeing inquiries for the winter months as many are looking to escape the cold.  Unless you can purchase a ticket with a plan in place now is the time to book and secure a cheap flight to India!
