Last Minute India Flights vs. Booking in Advance

We have entered into the booking period where many customers looking to travel from Canada to India are booking last-minute flights.  As many people were able to plan to get a cheap India flight, they are paying a premium to travel to India in the next few weeks.  While there are some good deals to be found many of the flights are extremely full with those who booked months and months ago.  As there are still seats available, we continue to see bookings but with so few seats the cost is high compared to those who purchased their flight tickets to India early.

Those people who can plan far ahead are already asking questions and making bookings for the fall of 2023.  While we don’t know if prices will go up or down based on demand and capacity along with the general economic sentiment some have already committed to a cheap flight to India this fall.  As we don’t know what the future holds the prices now could be much lower with new flights opening via Asia, but on the flip side, this will also create increased demand which could once again put a huge premium on a limited number of seats.  If we look at past years those who have booked early have saved in the long run and were able to secure a cheap flight to India.

For those customers who are looking to buy last-minute flights from Toronto to Delhi, there are a few options that will work.

Right now, on the Air Canada direct service, you can find prices as low as $2729 which is lower than we have seen recently.  If you are willing to stop along the way for your flight to India from Toronto there are significant savings.  The best option is to take the flight on American Airlines via New York for only $1999, which is one of the cheapest flights to India we have seen in quite some time.

For those leaving in September of 2023 the Toronto to India direct flight on Air Canada is available from $2437, but if you want to save some money it is best to book a flight with a stop and once again it is American Airlines with the lowest price with their fare staring from only $1749.

Customers who are departing from Vancouver to New Delhi are asking similar questions.  The main priority is passengers trying to leave in the next few weeks.  Those who do need last-minute flights are primarily flying on Air India even though the price is high with the airfare on the direct flight priced at $2915.  For those who are wanting to save money, Cathay Pacific is available from $2200 via Hong Kong.  Cathay Pacific will be forced to offer lower prices for the next few weeks as India has enforced new testing rules on traffic via Hong Kong and China.

Hopefully, this will only be a temporary restriction as these flights have great potential to reduce Canada to India flight prices.

For those passengers who already starting to plan a trip to India from Vancouver next fall, we are starting to see some bookings.

Currently, Air India does not have a full fall schedule in the system and Air Canada has loaded flights for November, both of these will most likely change in the next few months.  The customers who have been booking early are flocking to British Airways with prices around $1950.  The British Airways flights via London had also been priced aggressively for those who purchased tickets early last year and those who waited ended up paying significantly more and were unable to find a cheap flight to India on this route.

As we close out the busy period for new bookings to India from Canada, we are already seeing requests for the fall as many customers felt that paid too much this year waiting for prices to come down.

Those who did book early saved a significant amount of money allowing them to buy a cheap India flight last year.
