People looking for flights from Vancouver to Delhi will be disappointed this week as the market leader Air India made significant adjustments to their airfare.  Unfortunately, there has been a jump in prices from Vancouver to Delhi which are now $2256 whereas last week they were as low as $1750.  We are hopeful that this is a temporary situation and prices will quickly return to the lower place they were only 7 days ago.  The fact that Air India prices have jumped is forcing people to look to travel to India from Seattle and their high level of competition is keeping prices significantly lower and there they can find cheap tickets to India.

Overall, there is some good news for travellers to India from the Eastern part of the country with Toronto to New Delhi showing lower ticket prices.  Those customers leaving from Vancouver are not enjoying the level of competition and therefore are having to endure a price jump on Air India.  We do not know if these new higher airfares out West are sustainable but time will tell.  The priority for those travellers who are thinking of going to India is to be ready to secure a cheap flight to Delhi as soon as it is available!
