A Big Price Drop for India Winter Flights from Vancouver

As we move from the fall festival to the winter season for Canada to India travel, we are starting to see a big shift in the market.

Prices out of Vancouver to New Delhi as starting to show a significant downward trend.  Customers are now consistently finding tickets for less than $1500.  Turkish Airways and KLM with Air France both compete heavily for Indian traffic from Vancouver which means cheap India flights for those out West!  For those who want the convenience of a direct flight on Air India, its price is higher, but we expect that to change as we finally have more competition in the West and less demand.

Those looking for cheap India flights from Toronto are having less luck.  While there is a great level of competition with more carriers flying out East there is certainly more demand, especially this year.  As Toronto has a more diverse India market, they have the demand to keep prices higher than Vancouver.  As an example, a fare from Vancouver to Delhi is only $1500, but using the same flight options from Toronto to Delhi will increase your fare to $2600, so for the first time in more than 2 years, Vancouver has a pricing advantage for India flights as compared to Toronto.  We had seen this in the past, but now this is returning, let’s hope that those customers departing from Vancouver continue to get cheap India flights!

Passengers who are leaving Toronto and are looking for cheap India flights will have to adjust their dates further into early Spring as Winter flights continue to be somewhat expensive.  If you do want to travel this Winter there is a great option with United and Air Canada via New Jersey.  You can fly on Air Canada from Toronto to New Jersey and then on a United Airlines direct flight to New Delhi for only $2100, an awesome cheap India flight!

For those who only want to stick on the direct flights, Air India is available from $2450 which is cheaper than the Air Canada non-stop flights.  As we are starting to see lower demand from Vancouver, we may end up seeing cheaper India flights soon from Toronto as well.

If you are looking to fly from Vancouver to New Delhi and want a cheap India flight Turkish Airways has become very aggressive in their pricing strategy along with Air France and KLM.  Right now, on either of these two carriers, you can find a fare for only $1500 this Winter!  An amazing cheap flight to India!  If you are looking for the convenience of the non-stop Air India flight it will be closer to $2500 which is a significant extra amount to pay, but if you want to wait until Spring to make your Canada to India trip there are amazing prices from Air India with flights starting for only $1700, an amazingly cheap flight to India!

In the past week, we have finally seen some significant movement in pricing out West, it looks like the airline stranglehold on the consumer is finally starting to change.  Reduced demand and increased capacity worldwide will slowly start to erode the pricing power of the airlines which means cheap India flights for you!

The demand drop-off has not been significant yet, but capacity increases are picking up pace which will lower prices over the medium term and hopefully cheap India flights in the long term!
